About
The site was created by Al Gray and Mike Phillips. We both work in the world of advertising and marketing, and have had experience working on and for AAA titles such as Call of Duty and Homefront. Oh, and we are a little bit game crazy, spending countless messing around on Xbox Live, much to the irritation of our girlfriends.
We are continually amazed at the explosion of indie games, and the innovation in the industry. But we are also surprised that some of the best indie games that we come across are relatively unknown. Either due to our time spent in the advertising world, or some weird obsession with taking things apart to see how they work, we constantly talk about how our favourite indie titles would have more people playing it if only they done x or y. For every success story like Minecraft, there are hundreds of great games that go relatively unnoticed.
Obviously most indie games don’t have a huge budget for development, let alone advertising and marketing, so we hope to be able to bring advice that is not only helpful but also affordable. So that’s essentially our elevator pitch: Marketing and advertising advice for indie games on a shoestring budget.
We’ll be looking to continually add to this site, to make it more useful, interesting and relevant for you. So if you have any thoughts, suggestions, or just want to chat, get in touch. We can be found on Twitter and though our Contact page.
